Face it, some of your old LPs will never sound as good as they used to. You'll likely never find some of that old music again, and they'll never be re-released on CD, so in order to enjoy them again, you need to convert them to CD.
We can convert any usable analog music to CD Audio or MP3 Data format, and for the pops and clicks, we can remix and filter your new digital files to "clean them" so they sound as good as possible.
We can convert:
FROM THESE FORMATS: TO THESE FORMATS:
| 33 1/3 RPM LP Records | CD Audio (plays on regular CD players) 15-18 tracks per CD |
| 45 RPM Single Records | CD MP3 Data format (plays on PCs and MP3) 80-100 tracks |
| Cassette | MP3 data on 128MB-1GB Flash Drive (Flash drive extra) |
| Open Reel (Reel to Reel)XXX Temporarily unavailable due to equipment failure | MP3 data emailed to you, each track is a separate file |
| CD Audio* | |
| Micro cassette |
We use only the best audio and computer equipment to reproduce the best results. Audio: Dual 1228 turntable with Empire 2202 cartridge, Sony SEH-310 9-Band Hybrid Graphic Equalizer, Nakamichi 480 Cassette, Sony TC-377 Open Reel deck, and Bose 301 speakers. PC: System 1:Dell 8200 with Twin 240GB Drives, Twin 48x CD Burners, System 2: Toshiba A10, 80GB drive, 24x CD Burner. System 3: Redhat Enterprise Linux-Based Custom PC, 4x120GB drives (primary storage machine). System 4: Dell Inspiron 1200 (alternate for large projects requiring remixing) Software: Audacity, Check&Convert, CDex, AudioSurgeon, MP3 Tag/Edit, Adaptec 8.0, WinAmp, Windows Media Player, I-Tunes, and Avery Design Plus. For really custom labels, we offer Adobe Photoshop for customizing images within the CD labeling process.
Please Note: The Capacity of a CD (CD Audio or MP3 Data format) depends upon the "Sampling Rate" that we use. We recommend at a minimum, 192kbs (Studio Quality), but can go as high as 320kbs (CD High end quality). For most listening situations, 192kbs is sufficient, and maximizes the amount of music that can be transferred to CD. For analog conversions (records or tapes), increasing the sampling rate higher than 192kbs will result in no increase in sound quality. The end result will be a CDR with individual tracks per song, each with the appropriate MP3 tag listing the Track Name, Artist, and Album (for players that display this data). If yours doesn't, no problem, it will be added anyway. Your PC or MP3 player will read it even if your standard CD player won't. We'll encode your music in MP3 digital format, for lasting pleasure. From there, choose either CD Audio or CD MP3 format (or both) so you can enjoy your music without ever "wearing out" your music collection!
We can also offer specialized music editing, exporting
clips of your favorite music like this:
(High Speed Internet
suggested) This is a short clip we edited in three parts for use by
a local high school sports announcer for use between plays during football
games. This is clip 1 of 3, and is about 12 seconds in length.
Rates: $15 per album or tape (45 min average) plus $2 per CD burned. Straight Transfer (Plus return shipping and handling)
If you want us to remix the music, add $10 per album. Remixing involves a "best effort" of removing pops and clicks, remixing the highs and lows, and for tape transfers, eliminating tape hiss and boosting the treble, then "normalizing" the volume, if required. We use a combination of Bose 301 and ESS 5A Rock Monitors to ensure that the remix is as accurate as possible. For album conversions, we recommend a sampling rate of 192kb (128kb minimum).

Once we've converted your music, we can custom-make CDs in any play list you desire (CD Audio format only). Please be specific when you order. Contact support @ Competitivenetworksolutions.com to coordinate your project.
We now offer Video transfer services from VHS or VHSC formats to DVD. Rates vary on a per-project basis, as this is very time-consuming and "hands-on" to create the video files, and "produce" the end result DVD.
We're located in Memphis, TN, 901-757-0379.
